Due to the high global warming potential of methane, gaseous engine emissions play a crucial role in the overall balance. Umicore will drive forward the development of a catalyst for methane oxidation and thus make an important contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from future marine propulsion systems. The catalyst will be optimized to the specific requirements of the different combustion processes to ensure the best possible activity and high durability while maintaining low backpressure.
