FVTR GmbH is an independent research service provider in the fields of thermal processes and machines and contributes to product development at the interface between basic university research and the specific requirements of industry. The core of the work is the experimental and simulative analysis of energy conversion processes in mobile and stationary applications – from drives in the automotive and marine sectors to thermal power plants.

In this project, FVTR GmbH is developing experimental test methods and thermodynamic models to analyze and predict the methane slip of dual-fuel combustion processes and the performance of methane catalysts. The development of state-of-the-art thermodynamic simulation models will focus on a numerical methane slip model to predict the impact of different future technology packages on methane emissions in dual-fuel operation. The developed model will be developed in the planned project as a plug-in software package for industrial use in industry standard software tools.
